internet is disconnected

The problem:
The connection to the internet is disconnected after
seconds or very few minutes

The actions I've tried before I contact you:
1. Bought a new internal modem (56kps)
2. Install the modem in different PCI slot
3. Install a clean windows-xp (with ie version 6)
4. used the default ie setting
5. Phone line checked and found ok
6. I tried to connect to internet via "different ISP"
verified on another PC at another place
However, the same problem persist

Did you install Netscape just before this started to happen?
