internet home page

Cannot change the home page, from internet explorer when selecting internet
options to change home page operation is blocked.
the filed where you can select or enter your required home page is greyed
out, not allowing me to make any changes what so ever

Any Ideas ?????

Boot to safe mode [F8 while booting], and try it from there. If you can
change it from safe mode, do a clean boot -
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310353/en-us and then, run a spyware scan and
a virus scan. However, if it's still the same in safe mode, click Start > Run

sfc /scannow > OK [You'll need the Win XP CD for this].
