Home Page keeps resetting to Dell.com?

I just purchased a laptop from dell and can't change the home page in IE.
It's default is set to www.dell.com and it keeps changing back to that even
after changing it under tools, internet options. I will enter the home page
I want, click apply, close the screen and the home page goes right back to
dell.com.

Next time I open up tools, internet options, the home page is set back to
dell.com

Anyone know what is going on here?

How can I change my home page.

Probably came with a "Trial" version of McAfee Security Suite.
Many security tools "Lock" browser home pages from being set
to another site. Also, note that damn McAfee won't work unless
you register/activate it. Best advice is keep it off the net and do a
"De-Dell-ify" or remove the Value added junk that Dell installs.

Unless you like McAfee or want the free trial period - I would
uninstall it and use alternate Security software. Go to the Control
Panel ( Click Classic View), Add/Remove programs and go thru
the listing and remove any applications you don't want or will not
use. I had to uninstall McAfee on a new Dell Dimension the other
day and it went from a very long boot time to a more realistic value.

Yes, you were on the right track, but it was Norton.

As you mentioned, one of the first things I do when I get a new system from
dell is go through and remove all unwanted programs. The next step I took
this time was to install Norton and that is where the problem came in.

Thanks.
