i work in a company where IT check what internet sites we are on and then
they are blocked straight away the next day once we access them. like these
are harmless sites i want to keep access to likes sports sites and stuff.
anyway i can hide the fact that i have accessed the site so they wont block
it the next day??!!

Ummm....there's a reason they do this. To keep people working instead of
surfing.

Hiding this information is basically telling the company you don't care
about their policies. Expect to be fired when they find out.

yes kevin i agree with you and i agree with my company's policies. i dont
surf during work time i just surf on my lunch break. but hey thanks for the
constructive advise.

You might also want to remember that even using their equipment on your lunch
hour is a violation. You wouldn't take a desk home would you? You're still
using office equipment for personal reasons and they have every right to
track you even during your lunch hour

fair point you made but checking soccer results hardly equates to taking a

Access those sites from your home computer and IT will *never* know you've
visited harmless sites ... or naughty ones!

There's a larger point that the IT guys are trying to make, which is that
personal surfing on company equipment can lead to all sorts of nasty things,
such as adware and spyware, even from normal sites we all go to.

I support a client with 10 users and have had to lock them down heavily.
The CEO was tired of paying me 3 or 4 hours of labor to clean up machines
that got hosed by spyware.

Nobody is attacking you...just a little teasing behind the points.
