internet for 4+- min

hello
i have a laptop pentium 4 2800Mhz
i use windows xp sp2
with norton firewall + antivirus...
all update(win +norton )

when i use internet works perfect
but
after for 4-8 min the internet doesnt work even the connection looks ok
all the others applications word excel works perfect

i scan norton 2005 + adware se with the last updates the system looks clean
....
and as well my system windows xp sp2 is updated
do u have any idea ??

Please describe your physical setup a bit.

How does your laptop connect to the internet? What type of service do you have
- cable,dialup, DSL?

What happens when the internet doesn't work?
From each computer:
From a command window:
1) Ping www.yahoo.com.
2) Ping 66.94.230.33.
Report success / exact text of error messages.
From your browser:
3) Browse www.yahoo.com.
4) Browse 66.94.230.33.
Report success / exact text of error messages.

Are you dialing up? if so ive found that the dial up connection sometimes
stuffs up.
a simple recreating the connection should solve this.
you should have the diall up numbers & username & passwords to the
connection before you delete.As well as any additional settings eg. DNS if
your ISP needs it.
