Cannot go on-line without first going to control panel and
repairing internet explorer. Then everything works fine
until shutdown and then must repeat repair again.

Have you recently installed the service pack? Or a security update? Have
you tried going to windows update website to make sure you have all the
updates? Have you checked your "connection" settings in the IE options?
