internet explorer?

why do I sometimes get multiple internet explorer windows
opening one right after the other and it continues and
continues, the only way i can stop them is to do a
control/alt delete feature? Do I have a virus of some
sort?

You might have adware on your computer. Check this:

Also, it might be a good idea to install a popup killer. I like the Google
toolbar (http://toolbar.google.com).

The first thing to do is to scan your system for the possibility of
unknown\unwanted spyware or parasites that may be causing your problem(s).
