I'm having trouble with the enternet explorer not responding when I am
on-line, I have to close it down. I tried Firefox & AOL, it does the same
there too. AOL did restart itself. But the other 2 I have to restart new!
Can anyon tell me what to do? Also do I have to have Java on my computer? I
don't even understand what it does? Thanks!!!!

1... First, try to clean up your caches, Internet files and delete cookies
by doing this:
Click Start >> Control Panel >> Double click Network and Internet
Connections >> Double click Internet Options.
On the IE properties windows you will see these Taps:
General | Security | Privacy | Content | Connections | Programs |
Advanced
Under General Tab clear your History, Internet Files and Cookies.
Then click on Advanced tab and scroll down to under the Browsing Option:
[&] Browsing
[ ] Enable Third-Party browser extensions (Req Rest) uncheck this box.
Then click on Programs Tab and click Manage Add-Ons and Disable all non
Verified Add-Ons (You should Renable them later one-by-one and see the
culprit and update it or remove it.

For Malwares download both these software:
http://www.lavasoft.com/products/ad-aware_se_personal.php
http://www.safer-networking.org ; for Spybot S&D

Run Disk Clean Up and check all boxes to clear the Temp and all the junk,
then run a Defrag in Safe Mode.
Open a run command and type in:
ipconfig /flushdns click [OK]
ipconfig /renew
regsvr32 urlmon
netsh winsock reset
Reboot your computer and see if it will work okay.
You do not have too to have Java, unless you have a local games or other
application need to run with java.

Start with a thorough check for malware. Is a firewall active when online?
Do you have a current AV program and run a combination of other non viral
anti-malware apps in safe mode on a regular basis?

you posted.
Thanks for the help, am a little scared to go any further, but will see how
this goes first.
Hope I get it, for it's been very hard to do anything on the internet with
it stopping on me all the time. Hope I can ask you other questions if I get
stuck.
Thanks again puppytina
