I used to be able to place my mouse over parts of certain web pages in IE6.0
and a little box would pop up with a little extra information . I can no
longer get this to happen on my desktop, whereas on my laptop everything
works fine. Is there something I can do to get this function to work again?
Some change in advanced settings or security?

Rob

Try this.

Open Folder Options...
Start | Run | Type: control folders | Click OK |
View tab | Under Advanced settings, scroll to the bottom |
Place a checkmark in the box next to Show pop-up description
for folder and desktop items | Click Apply | Click OK

Show pop-up description for folder and desktop items
[[Specifies that a description of a selected folder or desktop item is
displayed in a pop-up window. When you select this check box, the pop-up
description appears even if Web content is not enabled on your desktop or in
folders.]]

Hope this helps. Let us know.

Thanks for the input Wes but that checkbox was already selected. I deselected
it, clicked OK then opened up the folder options -> view tab again to
re-select that checkbox. Still didn't solve the problem...

Wes,
I should let you know that in my initial post by "desktop" I meant my
"desktop computer".The problem that I am having happens only in Internet
Explorer when I'm in certain web pages.

Rob,

Obviously I misunderstood.

Do you see a difference with these certain web pages from your desktop and
laptop?

On the exact same pages?

Post a link to a couple of these pages and describe one of the info tips or
balloon tips or whatever.
