When I open internet explorer, it won't load up. No web
pages open. I've cleaned ,y cookies and temporary internet
files!! For internet explorer to work, I have to clck on My
Computer (My Documents......etc...), then type the adress
of my web site. Then I can't open new windows, or enable
javascript!! Also, I've already virus scanned the inernet
explorer file folder and renstalled internet explorer. I'm
using Windows 98. What can I do???

Open the Internet Options applet in Control Panel
Uncheck "Enable third-party browser extensions" on the Advanced tab.
You may also have to set the Home Page to about:blank

Then eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back

Looks like there are a lot of us all of a sudden having
major problems with IE, Windows 98 & AOL, is that right?
I think maybe we need some help here. I have talked
w/AOL - they say it is an IE problem. I talked w/my PC
vendor - he thinks it is 1st an AOL problem, then maybe an
IE problem - but not a machine problem. Seems like a lot
of pointing fingers and we aren't getting any where! HELP!
I have tried to load IE 6 SP1 to no avail. I have
reloaded my AOL versions 7,8&9 - none work right. Where
do I go next??
