This webpage has an embed src tag which plays music fine
on Netscape 7.1 on my computer and on my friend's Internet
Explorer at his apartment last night but for some reason
my computer's Internet Explorer refuses to play this midi
music referred to in the webpage. I have looked into
msconfig and all the knowledge bases and have norton
internet security on and all updates from Windows Update.
I have also a problem with the service in control panels
administrative options for service Application Management
it will not start it says that the file svchost.exe cannot
be found but the file is there in c:\windows\system32
\svchost.exe and a Microsoft Rep. left me a voicemail
saying I should try to have it extracted from my cd-rom?
I have sent e-mail to Mr. Gates suggesting they should
expand the system restore program to encompass these
important core files of Windows XP so that user's like me
wouldn't have to have degredations in our software's
operation. I mean if Netscape did this I'd just uninstall
and reinstall with no problems but since it is Internet
Explorer which came bundled with Windows XP and the
Windows XP has all of these "Hotfixes" listed in
add/remove programs for it, my Computer Manufacturer just
recommends that I reformat my hard drive and start from
scratch to avoid the whole malware issue or Windows drift
problem as reported by PC Magazine. But I think and hope
someone might have some solutions right here. I don't
have $35 for a technical support case id number from
Microsoft on this and I'd sure hate to erase my drive
again just for this. Please help.
