Internet Explorer will not load - spreading on network

For the last two days I have not been able to load IE. Now the other computer
on our home network also has the same problem. AOL works find and the
internet connection tests fine. Have tried several spyware removal programs
via AOL and ran Norton and Mcafe virus checks. Nothing seems to help. My
brother in law works at Blue Cross Blue shield as a Doctor and their IE was
also not able to load today. Road Runner and Compaq tech support are out of
options....please help

Are you getting an error message? Some have been getting a C++ Runtime
Error. The fix for the runtime error is to remove the Google Toolbar. Can
you give us more details.

This problem is very interesting. The fix that worked for me is to
disable *every* browser helper (Tools, Manage Add-ons). The interesting
part is that doing so has not affected the Google toolbar (disabled),
reading *.pdf documents (disabled Acrobat helper), or ftp (disabled
WSFTPPro helper).
