Specs: Win 98 on desktop, XP on laptop. They are
connected via cable modem and network via router.
Firewall via the Netgear router and Norton security
(updated online as notified).
The desktop cannot access the internet. Error
message: "IEXPLORE.exe has generated errors and will be
closed by Windows. You will need to restart the
program." The desktop was shut down, restarted several
times, and error message remains but the internet cannot
be accessed.
I checked the Event Log and found "Dhcp" Errors recorded
7/26, 7/29 & 8/3. (Event #1002) Thereafter, the record
show Warnings on 8/18 (Event #1003)
The laptop is working perfectly.
