Hi,
I have recently moved and connected to a new ISP (virgin.net) and have
set up a new ADSL connection. Everything worked right out of the box
(I was pleasantly surprised) however now my internet browser seems
totimeout. If I leave the computer for a while (say an hour or
longer), when I return I cannot access any internet pages and I get
the standard error message as though I am not connected. When I
restart the computer it works fine again (for the first while then
times out again).
This is not a problem with my internet connection as other
applications still work (for example Kazaa keeps running/downloading
the whole time and the modem/router continues to send/receive
information and saya that it is connected. All power saving options
have been switched off as far as I can tell, and I have no idea where
to even start to fix this.
Note that in my old place I was running the connection through a
wireless card and it did not have this problem, now the connection is
through the wired ethernet connection.
Any ideas? I would appreciate your help or suggestions.
Cheers,
Vinnie
