Internet Explorer starting problems

I have a very strange problem. When I open Internet
Explorer 6, it comes up with an error message stating
that it has encountered a problem and has to close.

BUT the strange thing is that I CAN get it to run, but
only if I get the error message, click "click here" twice
to get to the advanced error report, and then run
Internet Explorer again with the error message still up.

I'm quite confused about this, and if anyone could help
it would be greatly appreciated. I am running XP Home.

Sam,
This is probably being caused by another program- possibly adware, spyware,
parasite.
Download and run run CWShredder from
http://www.zerosrealm.com/downloads/CWShredder.zip
CWShredder is only about 125 KB so it could be downloaded from another
machine onto a floppy disk if necessary.

If CWShredder isn't the cure, try Ad-aware and Spybot S&D:
See:

Also note the security tips on that page.
