Internet Explorer slow to surf

Hooked up on cable connection but surfing around the net
is rather slow. It was never this slow before. I must have
done something to cause this. Any ideas, your time is
appreciated

There's a good possibility that this is being caused by a third-party
program (adware, spyware, parasite).
