internet explorer shuts down on some web pages

Thank you up front. Internet Explorer will completely
shut down when I open certain web pages. This desk top
is 2 years old and undoubtedly has some odd setting that
that rejects certain sites, particularly shopping sites.
I expect it is a graphics conflict but I am not that
savvy to know. My laptop has no problems on the web.
Can you help?
Thank you!!!!!!

What's the problem? Give the computer that won't open
shopping websites to your wife. Kill 2 birds with one
stone! :)

First eliminate any scumware.
See

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each need to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.
