Internet Explorer Must Close message

OK, so i had a virus, which i deleted in safe mode, and then i rebooted to
the regular mode to find this error message on my screen that said: Internet
Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the
inconvenience. Apparently it had kept popping up b/c it took forever to get
rid of them. They continue to come up, even though i was not on internet
esplorer. I have tried everything, i tried what microsoft had listed on
their webpage, i tried every scanner i could find, i even re-installed
Windows XP. and nothing has worked. I am at college and really really need
to use my comp, but this stupid messgae keeps popping up!! If anyone has any
other ideas that might work, i would be grateful for ever!! Thanks in advance
