Internet Explorer Mem Usage

Dear Group

I have recently noticed intense disk activity on my laptop, and noticed that
CPU Usage goes to 100% when internet explorer is open. I believe it should
not eat that much memory (jumps to 40,000K) , but it really accounts for
most of it when it is running even with static pages.

Any recommendations on where could I look for clues on improving the
performance?

IE on my computer starts at 32,992K and continues up from there - dependent
upon what I am doing. There is nothing wrong with my setup.
