Internet Explorer looking in wrong system path

Our network administrator recently deployed Internet Explorer 6 to all machines in our company

However since then we've been having problems with an ActiveX component (that runs through IE6) looking in the wrong place for a .dll file upon installation. (The component is part of a program all our users have just started to use and only needs installing the once)

The file (MFC42u.dll) is on everyones machine in the winnt\system32 folder, but for some reason the installation looks in the following folder: C:\DOCUME~1\USERNAME~1.CNX\LOCALS~1\Temp\1\ICD1.tm

It is easy enough to browse to the correct location but our users arn't very technically minded so I'd rather sort it than support hundreds of users through it

My guess is the deployment of IE6 has changed some registry setting, but I can't see anything obvious

did you also get all the updates for IE, and the last
activeX 9b i think.
