internet explorer links

hey all,
just wondering you know how when you add a favorite to your links folder it
puts it up there on the toolbar. well some sites modify the icon instead of
the default i.e. icon (page with e on it) how do you do that?

and also all of a sudden the custom icons have gone away and replaced with
default ie icon. how do i get them back? i tried deleting and then re-adding
but still doesnt' work?

Favicons are only temporary until cleared from your cache.
