Internet Explorer is inoperable

For some reason, my IE6 has become inoperable. I've tried
some suggestions to no avail. I installed Netscape 7.1 and
it works fine, but I prefer IE. Running Win XP Home and
have applied recent security packs. Is there a simple way
to re-install IE? By the way, Outlook Express runs fine.
When I click on IE, the browser opens but makes no
connection, says the page is unavailable.

I'm having the exact same problem. My cable connections is running smooth, and I can't
recall installing anything that would affect IE. Most other programs work great, like MSN
explorer, OE, games, etc.
one thing I found out, and you may find this interesting, is that if you open "My
Documents," then click "favorites" you can surf the web easily. Still, though, if you
click on a link that would normally open another window, it opens an IE window, and the
same problems reoccur.
Post here, or e-mail me if you happen to find a solution.

I am experiencing exactly the same problem but have not been able to resolve. Presently using Mozilla browser :-( as IE6 just would not work on my XP machine.
