Internet Explorer is extremely

I don't know what happened to my Internet Explorer but
all of a sudden everytime I open it, it runs extremely
slow! I tried to restore my system with System Restore
but it wouldn't restore to any restore point. I have
hardly ever gotten that to work. I tried to reinstall
Internet Explorer several times. I choose repair
Internet Explorer and it said that it would replace
missing files and restore it to it's original state. I
even reinstalled Windows choosing the repair windows
option. All my attempts to fix this slow down have not
worked.

My computer runs fine and up to it's normal fast speed
until I open Internet Explorer. I run Norton Anti Virus
with the latest definitions regularly and scanned my
system once this started and found no viruses. I always
keep my system clean by deleteing temparary internet
files, cookies and browser cache and defrag on a reguler
basis. I'm hoping that one of you can give me a fix to
this before I do what I see as probably the only thing
left that will fix this, a format and start over. The
last thing I wanted to try but I'm not certain I should
try it is to delete Internet Explorer all together,
folder and all but I'm not sure if I'll be able to
reinstall it again if I do that.

If you can help please do. Thanks in advance to everyone!

Try running spybot as adware/spyware can slow down IE a lot. I read that one
type of adware scans pages as you open them and replaces adverts on the fly.
Now that's got slow it down.

I gave up on IE 6 months ago. I use Netscape 7.1 and Norton. No problems. Would never go back to IE. Much faster.

Most of the systems I look at that have IE running slow are in fact doing so
because of spyware. Run both Spybot-Search and Destroy, AND, Ad-Aware. Get
updates after setting up before running.

I have been running Spybot and adaware for quite awhile
now. Each are up to date and I already ran both of them
as well as everything else. I'm stumped! I'll look into
Netscape and Mozilla I guess. Sure wish I could get this
figured out though. Like I said, I have no idea what
started this problem for me. Thanks for the suggestions
so far! Keep them coming please.
