Internet explorer Icon

Mike,

What's the default option when you right-click the icon? "Open Home Page" should be the default choice.

Someone deleted the Internet Explorer Icon from the desktop so I found under
Microsoft how to recreate it using the registry namespace. Followed the
instructions and the Icon reappeared, however if I click the icon Internet
Explorer does not start. I can right click the icon as I did in the past so
all that is good.

So is there some reason why after recreating the icon that IE will not
start. Is there some other step that is required to have the icon work as it
did in the past.

Thanks for any information.

Right-click on your Desktop and select:
Properties > Desktop > Customize Desktop
and place a check next to Internet Explorer,
then click OK and Apply.

Mike,

Delete the icon that you've created. Then, right-click Desktop, Properties.
Click Desktop, Customize Desktop
Put a checkmark near Internet Explorer
Click OK, OK.

Ramesh,

Interesting, when I right click the "Open Home Page" does not appear. I
checked another machine and this does appear as the default.

So now how do I change this so that it does appear. I looked through the
properties and did not find anything that indicated how to get this to
appear.

Thanks for responding, I appreciate it.

Well thank you both for the information, that works.

Now I also have the same problem on a W2000 machine which was going to be my
next attempt at solving the problem. However the W2000 machine does not have
the customize desktop. So any advice on how I solve the same problem, I have
the Icon now on the desktop but no "Open Home Page".

Sure appreciate the information.
