Internet Explorer Gets "hung up"

T

Ted S

I have IE 8.0. Frequently my web page gets hung up with the following messages:

Error Signature
szAppName:iexplore.exe szAppVer:8.06001.18702 szModName:hungapp
szModVer: 0.0.0.0 offset:00000000

The following files will be included in the error report:
C:\DOCUME~1\Owner\Locals~1\Temp\WERdf46.dir00\iexplore.exe.mdp
C:DOCUME~\Owmer\LOCALS~1\Temp\WERdf46.dir00\appcompat.txt
What does all this mean? How can I fix the problem? Many Thanks.

Many times browser issues are due to Add-ons. These are extensions
to the browser's normal functions. Microsoft provides a shortcut to a
IE that runs without Add-ons ( No Add-ons ). You can use this as a
test to determine if the browser works correctly without any add-ons.
Unfortunately way too many people use things like Google Toolbar,
Yahoo Toolbar..... that just overwhelms the browser from doing what
it basically should - render web pages.
From Internet Options, Programs (TAB) there is a Manage Add-ons
button where you can selectively enable/disable specific add-ons. Most
have easily identifiable names. One useful column is the Publisher which
identifies which company created the Add-on.
