Internet Explorer fails to load after using files transfer wizard

On a new Dell XP pro system, the client used the files and
transfer wizard to import from Win98. After the transfer,
IE fails to start when initiated from the desktop icon or
even trying to run iexplorer.exe in the programs folder.
However, clicking on Windows Update from the programs menu
or clicking a link in an email will open IE successfully
and once opened, it works without any problems.

Any clues?
 
Clear your cache. Delete all temporary internet files.

Your client IE folder may be moved to another folder or drive. May sure the
shortcut on desktop and Programs is pointing to the correct location of
iexplore.exe
