internet explorer error message

hello i get a message reading an error in mshtml.dll has
caused internet explorer to close down, any suggestions as
to what may be the problem

Hi,

Please reply with the following information as the troubleshooting info
depends and vary on the same:

1. Windows version ( 98, ME, XP etc)
2. Exact error message
3. Version of IE 6 ( Click About IE under Help menu in IE and note down the
complete version number)

Hi,
I have the exact same problem since quite a lot of time. I
reinstalled IE6 from scratch, without installing any
updates, and it worked fine. But, as soon as I reinstalled
windows update patches, Every minute, "Internet explorer
encountered a problem and needs to shutdown. We're sorry
for the inconvenience" (translated from French) with a
problem caused by mshtml.dll in iexplore.exe. I don't know
what I can do, apart from being forced to use netscape for
the rest of my life... I have Windows XP Home (French) and
IE6, version 6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2.030422-1633 with updates
SP1;Q837009;!832894.
