When my client opens Internet Explorer,
it goes to the nonexistent page "http:///" (three slashes)
no matter what she stores as her home page in Options,
no matter what she enters into her address bar.

Thus she can't get past the "Page not found" error
message.

What could be the problem?
What could be the solution?

Have you installed Microsoft Antispyware on the machine, updated to the
latest definitions, via File, Check for updates, and scanned the machine?
