Whenever I double click on IE, it always gives the the error box with the
"send/don't send" error correction window. I tried reinstalling from cd,
and it gives me the option to repair. But it still gives the same error.
Odd thing is that if I go to windows explorer and type in a URL, it goes
there with no problems. Also, I tried to do Add/Remove on IE6 and it is not
in the Add/Remove list. Short of having to reloading the machine, does
anyone know any fixes to this type of problem?

You do not have Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 in Add\Remove because you installed a Windows 2000 Service pack while that browser was installed. Microsoft has an article on this and their verdict is that when presented with an issue that requires an uninstall of Microsoft Internet Explorer (as I suspect yours does) to fix, a complete re-installation of the Operating system is all that's left. That is one reason why whenever I install a Service Pack into a Windows 2000 installation I ALWAYS return IE to its previous version (IE 5.01) and then apply the Service Pack. Then go back to that IE version.

Well, I thought that's what the solution would be. Well, Netscape will have
to do.
Thanks

Nathan. I'll be very surprised if the issue doesn't start occurring in Windows Explorer as well. If I could help you to avoid a reinstall I would love to. There is always the repair command line that might help. In fact that does give the ability to restore IE to a prior version. But I have to go to another machine to get the command unless someone else here knows it off the top of their head. I don't. But if you want to try down this road I'll go get it.

Hey, why not, if it let's me get back to IE 5, I would more than appreciate
it.

Microsoft removed the article. It was Q194177. But you know I save these things just for this very reason. Anyway here's what we want::

Click Start, and then click Run.
In the Open box, type the following command, and then click
OK:
rundll32 setupwbv.dll,IE5Maintenance "C:\Program
Files\Internet Explorer\Setup\SETUP.EXE" /g "C:\WINDOWS\IE
Uninstall Log.Txt"

In our case we need to change WINDOWS to WINNT. Also we need to change IE5Maintenance to IE6Maintenance but I believe that really doesn't matter. Just put all in Start | Run | 'put it here' | OK. You should be given the option to repair or restore to a prior version. Just fix the line breaks.

George, the article is still there, just remove the "Q" and use the number.
