Internet Explorer Address Bar

I am having a problem with Internet Explorer (ver. ?? - I
don't know how to determine this). Though I clear the
History file, when I type www.s in the address bar it
still drops down with an address that I previously
visited. This only happens with the one specific website
address that will not go away (on the drop down from the
address bar). Any suggestions on how to clear this
address?
