When I type a "www.anyaddress" into the microsoft internet explorer address
bar it come back with -- cannot find www.msn.comwww.anything.com ----
in other words, it is adding "www.msn.com" to what I enter. It adds it on
the front of what I enter and I get the error saying " cannot find
www.msn.comwww.aynthing.com.... However: if I use my favorites and go to
another search engine I can enter and go to anything I want.
Only internet explorer has this problem.

Thank you
Steve

What do you do after you type the address?
Click the Go button?
Hit Enter?
Do you hit CTRL+ENTER?
That Adds "www." to the beginning and ".com" to the end of the text typed in
the Address bar.

Your address needs to have www.anyaddress.something

You may have Search from the Address bar set.
[[When you search from the Address bar, Internet Explorer can automatically
display the Web page that most likely matches what you are searching for and
list other likely sites as well. ]]

In Internet Explorer, on the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
Click the Advanced tab.
Under Search from the Address bar Select:
Do not search from the Address bar
Apply
OK

[[Specifies to not use the Address bar for searches. You can still perform
searches in the Search bar by clicking the Search button in the toolbar.]]

Regaurdless of what is in the address bar, I click on the bar area and it
turns blue as it should and then I type "www.anything.com" and enter or go
--- then I get a popup box with the message reading as follows

cannot find www.msncomwwwanything.com" make sure the path or internet
address is correct

Even if I delete everything in the address bar before I type an address in,
the www.anything.com will be there after I hit enter or go. It adds
www.msn.com to the front of everything.
So, eveything reads www.msn.comxxxxxx.com
and I get the message.
