internet explorer 7

i have just re-formated my wifes computer & re-loaded with xp home edition
i am using aol version 9
all loaded fine able to log onto aol & check e-mail.
have down loaded microsoft internet explorer version 7
my computer will NOT access IE7 when i go to microsoft update site it just
says
NO internet connection
can someone PLEASE help

Please try the IE7 group.
The recommended newsgroup is microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general

In a proper newsreader:
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general
