internet explorer 6 will not open

running windows xp using aol 9.0 internet explorer 6 will
not open. browser works fine with other isp's

Thank you for responding. have followed advice in
article but it did not help. have also reinstalled tcp
networking after deleting winsock and winsock 2 in
registry any other suggestions would be appreciated.

What do you mean.

Any error message that you can share.

While checking look for this.

It may be a HOSTS file problem.
Look also for a file named HOSTS (no extension, could be hidden) rename it
OLDHOSTS.

i can connect to the internet with .Internet Explorer
works fine with the other dial up connections but will
not work with aol .it was working fine up to about two
weeks ago .I have talked to several other people who are
having the same problem .all the typical fixes have been
tried..does anybody have any ideas?
