Internet Explorer 6 - shutdown issue

My user clicked one of those annoying spam popups.Ever
since then, she gets a "this program is not responding"
when she attempts to shut down IE6. The IE6 icon appears on
the the Taskbar, she can then right click it and close.
I've installed Adaware 6 which cleaned up the windows
registry of malware, but the problem still persists. Any
ideas?

it sounds like a trojan like malware there are a few
trojan scans on line, or you can look for a trojan
detecter. you could start with spybot and spysweeper or
pest patrol whatever you like.
