I'm trying to help a friend with her Windows XP
machine. "All of a sudden" she can no longer purchase
anything online. She uses the Web through Juno (which of
course inherits it's browser information through IE).
When she goes to a page that requires a purchase, she is
told that "the page cannot be displayed." I use Windows
2000 Professional and since I can purchase online through
IE, I made her IE settings match mine. No help. She also
cannot do the Windows Update (Direct X or Active X issue
when she tries). Any settings that anyone knows about
that should be corrected? She must have done something at
some point because she used to be able to purchase
online. I don't believe she ever tried the Windows Update
so that might not have worked since the get go--she has
Dell with 128MB RAM; nothing else looked unusual.

I think all of these strange actions could happend because
that PC infected with a Spyware , so i advice you to scan
that pc with the spyware doctor and remove all the
spaywares may be found , then after if not solved make a
system restore , start> Programs> accessories> system
tools> then choose system restore and restore your
computer to an erlier time before that happend , i hope
that could help you
