I have had quickbooks installed on my computer for
several months. I have not had any problem with it until
recently. I get a message stating I have to use Internet
Explorer 6.0 with it. I have the newest version of
explorer available. I called Quickbooks and was told it
must be something in my registry. I have uninstalled and
reinstalled both quickbooks and explorer. I called the
company where I purchased my computer and they didn't
know what it would be.

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated!

Click Start/Run and type Regedit. This opens the Registry Editor.

Navigate to the following location:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\IEXPLORE.EXE.

Use the export option in the registry editor to backup the key to a REG file.

Post the contents of the REG file here.

Do I need to reboot my computer?
-----Original Message-----
Create a new key named iexplore.exe
In the right-pane, set the value of (default) to the
full path where Internet Explorer resides. (usually
C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IExplore.exe)

Yes. Most of the time, a reboot is required so that the system re-initializes the registry.
