Internet Explorer 100% CPU Use

Using Windows 2000 with all updates installed, I get 100% CPU use on random
websites. Checking task manager shows IE to be the culprit. I've tried the
following:

1.Removed all Internet related third party applications. Such as the
download or toolbar application.
3. Disabled the Third party browser extensions in the Internet Options
4. Disabled the firewall and anti virus application
5.Uninstalled/reinstalled IE6.
6. Did virus scan and spyware checks with Adaware, Spybot, and Hijack-This
programs.

Anything left to try besides using Mozilla Firebird for browsing from now
on? :(
