internet dialog box

Internet connection dialog boxes open faster than I can
close them. Even when I'm not trying to connect to the
internet the Network connection dialog box opens and
prevents me from working. No matter how many times I
close the box it pops back open.

.
Go to start > Control Panel > Network and Internet
connections > set or change your internet connection.

Select the connections tab at the top and select "never
dial a connetion" select "apply" select "okay".

If everything else is correct with your system this
should fix that glitch.

This type of behavior often means that some sort of pest now
resides on your PC. You might want to take a look here:

http://aumha.org/a/parasite.htm
http://rgharper.mvps.org/cleanit.htm
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;827315
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/downloads/default.mspx

Here are a couple of online virus scanners that you might want to
try:

http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/default.asp?langid=ie&venid=sym
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/housecall/start_corp.asp

Another possibility is that a program installed on your PC, such
as an antivirus program, has an automatic update feature. Check
your Scheduled Tasks folder in Control Panel. Also check Msconfig
for any startup entries that contain all or parts of the word
update. Note: Windows automatic update feature would not behave
this way.

Good Luck
