Internet Connectivity Drops after 10 minutes

This is a very strange problem and I am at my wits end. I have had DSL
service for about 18 months and have recently (last 30 days) developed
a problem I cannot address. After re-booting I can access the internet
for about 10 minutes then get page not found errors. Only way to
correct is reboot (complete shut down).

The PC is standalone running Window XP SP2 with all available updates
for MS.

I have tried the following:
1. Talked with my provider, they can see me connected when this occurs.
2. Replaced DSL Modem with 2-Wire Home Gateway (not using wireless).
3. Replaced Ethernet card.
4. Replaced cables.
5. Switched firewalls (Windows, 2 Wire and no firewall) all with no
differance.
6. Removed Anti-Virus program (un-installed).
7. Ran Spyware programs (Spy-bot, Lavesoft, and Yahoo Anti Spy).
8. Uninstalled and reinstalled my DSL software.
9. Manually configured DNS
10. Used different Browsers (IE, Foxfire...)
11. Logging on and off my specific user profile makes no difference.
12. Same problem occurs on all profiles on the computer (4).
13. Restored computer to a point before this started.

Also removed VPN client and connection. This continued to work even
when the normal internet connection was dropped (before removal).

When the error occurs all lights on the modem continue to show full
connectivity/activity if I select a link or bookmark. I can ping sites
from the CMD prompt just cannot access them from the browser. Running
ipconfig/all with and without the problem shows no difference.

Any ideas or suggestions would be most appreciated.

Hi
In General, you can debug the Network Settings of a computer by following
these steps.
Step One. Check the Network parameters in the Computer's Device Manager.
Make sure that the Network Card drivers are installed correctly; i.e. there
is No IRQ conflict, and No Ghost installation.

Step Two. Verify Basic network setting in the OS:
http://www.ezlan.net/Installing#verify.
If the above two Steps indicates that every thing looks good but
functionally it does not work.
Step Three. Check (and repair if necessary) the Socket Layers, Winsock, and
or refresh the TCP/IP Stack. http://www.ezlan.net/clean#refreshnet

Jack:
Thanks for the direction, I followed each step and still have the same
result, I can access the internet for about 10 minutes and then I am
unable to access any page.

Any other suggestions or ideas?

Thanks!

UPDATE: I "repaired" Windows XP and reinstalled all MS Critical
Updates/Service Pak 2. The problem continues (Great internet
connctivity for about 10 minutes, then errors in browser - see above
for details). Any addition suggestions would be most appreciated as I
am at a loss for next steps.

Let me know if you have fix the problem, I have the same problem, and, I have
been unable to fix it.

My problem has been similar and part of the fix was getting rid of a trojan.
Use the on line checker at bitdefender.com using Internet Explorer and see if
it finds anything.
