Internet connections

Hi guys and Gals, this is the first time I've ventured into this newsgroup
so I apologise if the question I'm about to pose has been done to death a
thousand times already.

I'm using Win XP Pro and have SP2 installed. At least once a day and
certainly after any shut down IE6 loses details of dial up settings and
reverts to "never dial a connection" necessesatating an adjustment before I
can log on. Now I know this doesn't stop me logging on but it is a bit
annoying so if anyone has any ideas???

It's the "automatically detect setting" checkbox (for a proxy), at IE, tools, options, connection tab, LAN settings button
