internet connection

I cannot keep an internet connection on my windows XP. It
keeps disconnecting after a few minutes, but I have no
problem with my other computer(windows 98) keeping a
connection.
 
Carmen, sounds like you have a virus. Have you done a
virus scan? If not do one.
 
Don't I have to be on the internet to perform a virus
scan? I'm not connected long enough to do one.
