Internet connection

While working off line my internet dial pop up keeps coming on and trying to
dial for connection. How can I get this to stop?
 
on IE go to tools, select internet options, click on the connections tab.
select never dial a connection. This will prevent your machine from trying to
connect all the time. It won't prevent you from getting connected when you
click on IE to go on line.
