My internet connection keeps dropping. Under network and sharing the
indicator says i'm still connected. When i diagnose the issue under windows
vista and it says it's a problem with my ISP (Cable). I log out/log in or
reboot and the connection is back but then only works for a while. It
doesn't drop whilst downloading, it downloads then drops??? Same issue occurs
via USB cable or my ethernet card (built into motherboard) any suggestions??

Hi Fergalf. Windows might be turning off the network adapter to save power.
Turn off the power-saving option in the network adapter's properties (wired
network adapters only):
1. Open Network Connections by clicking the Start button , clicking
Control Panel, clicking Network and Internet, clicking Network and Sharing
Center, and then clicking Manage network connections.

2. Right-click the connection, and then click Properties. If
you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the
password or provide confirmation.

3. On the Networking tab, click Configure.

4. On the Power Management tab, clear the Allow the computer to
turn off this device to save power check box, and then click OK.

Hope this helps!
