Hi,

I am trying to share my broadband (ADSL) internet connection. I am running
XP Home edition with all the latest updates.

I followed the instructions in "Help and Support". Having selected the
connection and then selected the Advanced tab, there should be an Allow
other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection
check box, but it is not present. (It is entirely missing: not just greyed
out.) It is also missing on my modem/dial-up connections. All my accounts
have administrator rights, in fact the account I am using is the Owner
account (although I have renamed it).

I have seen this check box on another user's Win XP. Can anyone tell me why
it is not present on my installation please?

Many thanks in advance.

Steve

Make sure that XP's firewall (ICF) is *not* enabled on your LAN connection,
as this will cause the effect you're seeing. The firewall can be on the ADSL
or modem connection.
