How important is that to my computer?this IS a hardware problem too, i have an ethernet cable, a wireless adapter, and a USB in the computer in my room, to connect with the linksys router in my living room where the internet works fine. It won't pick up the IP, it gives me a 169 address, and only when i manually put the IP address in does it connect, and even with excellent strength and full connectivity, nothing internet related works, no firefox, no internet explorer, limewire, AIM, nothing can connect, what is the problem?
whenever i try to enable internet connection sharing it says it can't open the file, i can't use windows firewall at all there is always an error, where can i get a new copy of the firewall/ics??
