Internet connection sharing.

Had internet connection sharing working fine for months.
Started computer today and nobody on the local network
could get out to the internet. Only my XP Pro machine
could get out. Started troubleshooting and saw that the
shared eithernet card was NOT shared. Went to the
properties of the card and reselected the "Share this
connection" and now get this message: "An error occurred
while Internet Connection Sharing was being enabled. The
dependency service or group failed to start."

Now what??? Have tried uninstalling cards and
reinstalling them. But no good. Any help would be
appreciated. XP machine can still get out to the internet.

Have not done a "Restore" on my windows XP Pro... This
problem was after a normal morning startup.(I don't keep
my machine running 24/7)... I have not loaded any
updates, and Microsoft automatic updates are turned
off... Any other suggestions and I will gladly look into
them???

The title of the KB is a little misleading. Try starting your Remote Access
Connection Manager service. If you get error #5 Access Denied, then KB will
almost certainly help.

Otherwise, post back.
