Internet Connection Settings

How do I lockdown Internet connection settings so that a regular user cannot
make changes? For example, I am wanting to use a proxy server connection,
but I don't want the user to be able to change the settings. If possible, I
need an answer that applies to both standalone workstations and domain
workstations.

Thanks.

For XP Pro you can use local Group Policy or domain level Group Policy for
domain computers. Look under user configuration/administrative
templates/Windows components/Internet Explorer/internet control panel -
disable connections page. You can use gpedit.msc to open local Security
Policy. Note that if you enable it on a stand alone computer it will apply
to all users that logon to that computer.
