Internet Connection Problem

I started out having Windows 2000 Pro. I took my computer
over to a friends house and pluged in the cable internet
but it didn't connect. I went into the Internet
Connections and clicked "never use a dial up connection."
Then, i installed Windows XP Pro after. Now, having
Windows XP Pro, i cannot start a new internet connection
using a dial up. Everytime i try to start a new
connection, it gives me the error message of "Cannot load
the Remote Access Connection Manager service, Error 711"
Does anyone know how to fix this problem?? PLEASE HELP!

i tried doing that but it gave me error messages 1068 and
5 on the remote access ones. The telephony one worked,
but the other two didn't. any other advice?

Error 5 indicates this problem:

You Cannot Create a Network Connection After You Restore Windows XP

And the fix is to re-apply SP1.
