Internet Connection Now Drops When Switching Users

F

Frank

WinXP-SP1, dial-up connection. It had been that when I was connected and
just switched users, the Internet connection would persist to the other
user. I than had CoreComm turn on Accelerator (to make web pages load
faster) but since that time the Internet connection drops out when switching
users. I suspect that is what causes the problem and I've asked CoreComm to
turn it off for my account, which has been done but the problem still
persists. I can't find any spot to reenable it. CoreComm says it was
coincidental and not related to the Accelerator function, but I think not.
Any thoughts? TIA

Hi Frank,

The issue may be caused by some applications of the new user will try to
reset the connection.

Let's try the following steps.

1. Logon with the new user.
2. Run msconfig and uncheck the "Load Startup Items" and click OK
3. Restart the computer.
4. Logon with your user. Connect with the connection
5. Switch to the new user and see whether the problem still occurs

PS: please make sure you have installed the Windows XP SP1.

Thanks for using Microsoft News Group!
