internet connection lost when switching users

when i am logged on and downloading files etc if my wife comes and switches
user my computer still shows my programmes are running but when we switch
back my internet connection is lost how do i stop this, also when we switch
from one user who is connected to the internet you have to reconnect
please help

Start - Connect To - <choose account> - and in the sign in box tick remember password for all users not just you.
